Midwest Soccer formed a marketing initiative at our last regional meeting in Clearwater, Florida. Five individuals were appointed to the committee: Branko Ilic, Sean Manus, Ben O'Brien, Peggy Polley and Debra Trapikas. These individuals met and established the first several steps for a marketing plan and plan of action for the region. Ben O'Brien and Sean Manus will be redesigning our website to bring it up to date, adding on message boards, blogs, QR codes and things to connect our players (facebook, twitter, etc.). We look forward to the updated website and it is our goal to have it up and running before the next regional meeting in Miama, FL in March, 2012.

The next step in the marketing plan is to design a flyer which can be inserted into tournament programs, hall of fame programs, and put on websites across the region. Finally, a rack card will be designed for distribution at events where large numbers of players will be present. We are excited about the initial events and we invite every state association to assign a member of their state to become a member of this task force. There are several goals of the initiative, including providing information to players, team managers and coaches and administrators. In addition, we hope to increase player numbers in every state through the promotion of programs for players.
