Regional Grants

The Midwest Region of the United States Adult Soccer Association (USASA) has established a Regional Grants Program to provide its member associations and leagues additional financial resources at the "grassroots" level of the game to increase and enhance membership.

The Grant Committee consists of five members:  Vic Boydo, Kansas, Chairman; Jim Albertson of Iowa; Marci Pesorda of Ohio North; Wayne Wilson of Nebraska and Jennifer Slater-Unruh  of South Dakota.

Five grant applications were received in 2010-2011 for $6,000.00. Four grants were awarded, they are:

Illinois Soccer Association - Priera Division de Chicago for $1,500.00;
Kansas Soccer Association - Liberal Women Soccer League for $1,500.00;
Southern Ohio Soccer Association - United Futbol Club for $1,500.00 and
Wisconsin Soccer Association - Women's League Development for $1,500.00.

The deadline for grant applications for this cycle year is October 30, 2012. Grants will be reviewed by December 31, 2012 and recommendations will be sent to the Region II Director. The Executive Committee then meets to approve or disapprove the grants and award winners will be issued grant checks at the USSF AGM in February 2013.

The Grants Program seeks to foster competition, create new membership opportunities, and encourage participation in adult soccer.

The priorities of the Grants Program are to support long-term membership,  to support gender equity, and to advance programs that will result in increased membership.
